Connection Audit

When relationships that matter are quietly drifting — pause and recalibrate.

Life is full. Work can be loud. The people you care about could slip into the background.

The Micro-practice: Quarterly, review the 5–10 relationships you want to actively tend.

How:

  1. List the people who genuinely matter.
  2. Ask: When did we last connect meaningfully?
  3. Identify 2–3 that need attention.
  4. Take one small action for each.

Time: 15 minutes for the audit itself.

When: Quarterly (a seasonal reset works well).

Why this works: Relationships don’t maintain themselves — they erode quietly if you don’t tend them. Small, regular tending prevents drift and strengthens resilience across your life. But you don’t need to be doing amazing things; you just need to be intentional. The people who stayed strong through burnout were the ones who made space for relationships outside the chaos of work. Not because they had more time, but because they chose to. And here’s what happens: when you actually invest, even a little, people feel it. They show up more. You feel less alone. And your own resilience goes up because you’re not trying to carry everything by yourself.
