Gratitude Expression

When someone’s impact mattered — say so, and get specific.

“Thanks” feels too small. So you say nothing. The moment disappears.

The Micro-practice: Tell them exactly what they did and why it mattered.

How:

  1. Reach out within 24 hours.
  2. Name the action specifically.
  3. Name the impact on you.
  4. Keep it simple and sincere.

Time: 2–5 minutes

When: Within 24 hours of someone helping, supporting, or showing up for you.

Why this works: People need to know their impact. Specific gratitude strengthens relational memory. People understand their impact — and connection deepens on both sides. They feel seen, and they’re more likely to show up that way again — not because you asked, but because they understand what it meant. And here’s the paradox: this takes almost no effort but has outsized relational impact. Both of you feel better. The relationship gets stronger. And in a world where so many people are operating on empty, knowing that you actually made a difference in someone’s day? That matters enormously.
